We looked at the breakdown of guests on influential Sunday morning political talk shows and found that, except for MSNBC, those guests were overwhelmingly likely to be white.
How likely? Well, none of the broadcast networks’ morning showsor CNN’s morning show had a guest pool that was less than 82% white.
MSNBC’s shows—Melissa Harris Perry and Up with Chris Hayes—showed far greater diversity and were 49% and 63% white, respectively.

It’s true: Fox News mainstreams Pamela Geller’s Islamophobic hate speech.
Saturday on Fox News, guest Pamela Geller — leader of Stop Islamization of America — said Obama is “sanctioning these murderous rages that these Muslim mobs have been going on.”
Fox hosted this far right-wing blogger on Friday too, where she claimed Obama was “submitting” the U.S. to Sharia law.
This is nothing new. Fox always takes advantage of heightened fears and emotions after international tragedies occur. It’s their excuse to push their deep-seeded Islamophobia.
Please note Fox News’ chairman Roger Ailes “has a personal paranoia about people who are Muslim.”

Limbaugh and Right-Wing Bloggers give information that conflicts with Marine Corps official statements on Egypt security
Conservative media like Rush Limbaugh claim “the Marines didn’t have bullets in Egypt.” A Fox guest and right-wing bloggers are saying that the Marines in Cairo were barred from carrying live ammunition.
Time to put an end to those lies. This is what the Marine Corps says:
The Ambassador did not impose restrictions on weapons or weapons status on the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group (MCESG) detachment. The MCESG Marines in Cairo were allowed to have live ammunition in their weapons. The Ambassador and Regional Security Officer have been completely and appropriately engaged with the security situation. Reports of Marines not being able to have their weapons loaded per direction from the Ambassador are not accurate.

Fox News claimed that its correspondent had conducted the interview in Peshawar Central Jail, and quoted Dr Afridi as saying that he suffered “brutal interrogation and torture” by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) when arrested. According toFox, Afridi accused the ISI of funding militants, regarding the US as its “worst enemy”, while it accused Pakistan of cooperating with the US only to extract money, amongst numerous other allegations.
Fox News only aired the transcript of the purported exclusive, but did not indicate whether it was a video or audio interview. It also does not say how its reporter managed to enter the jail or meet Dr Afridi.
On Tuesday, the interview was categorically denied by officials at Peshawar Central Jail and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa home and tribal affairs department and ruled out any possibility of interviewing Dr Afridi inside the jail. “Dr Afridi is beyond the access of media and the news published, whether audio or video, is ambiguous and false as no one can meet [him] without approval of the provincial government and jail authorities,” said a statement issued by the Peshawar Central Jail.
The statement read that the K-P government regretted the story published by Fox News since only family members had been allowed to meet Afridi once a month at an office of the deputy superintendent jail. The home department’s Section Officer (Media) Qamar Ali also toldThe Express Tribunethat Afridi had been under strict security, adding that only his family members, after approval of the provincial government, were allowed to meet him once a month.
“The news is completely vague and untrue,” said Ali.
Afridi’s 18-member defence counsel has also denied the interview, terming it baseless and fallacious.
