There’s been a new revelation that CBS’ 60 Minutes' key Benghazi “witness” never actually got close to the Benghazi compound the night of the attacks. According to The Washington Post, Dylan Davies “spent most of that night at his Benghazi beach-side villa.”This faulty journalism isn’t going unnoticed. Veteran journalists and media ethicists are criticizing 60 Minutes for the “serious problem” with its Benghazi “witness.” A former writer for the New York Times says, ”I don’t see any way that 60 Minutes would not need to offer an explanation.”
And in a letter to CBS executives, Media Matters founder and chairman David Brock is calling on the network to retract its 60 Minutes story: “This paints a damning picture of the credibility of the supposed eyewitness — and thus of the CBS report itself.”
Of course, Fox News has been cheerleading CBS’ irresponsible journalism the whole way.
